my 88 truck with 03 tacoma wheels

my digital camera is pretty weak but you get the idea. i picked up these about 2 weeks ago for $350 for the wheels and brand new michelin LTX 265/75/16. I think i got a pretty good deal on em. The truck is an 1988 Toyota SR5 extended cab with v6 and 5speed. Even with the big tires it will light up the tires fairly well.

so my friend said he'd sell me his 98 tacoma rims and wheels for a good price, but i wasn't sure if it would look awkward on my 87.

Should I do it, they are the like 3/6 spoke ones with 31" michelins?

Will it look okay?

I agree, the spoke wheels look good on anything. I bought a set to replace my steel wheels and it makes the truck look like a completely different vehicle.
You'll like them.

Yea so I went with the advise and got em, with 31" Michelin LTX A/T's on em. Looks pretty sick I think.

Here are the pix

The old pix are from the summer and they are without the add-a-leaf and rims/tires.

I havn't done a Torsion Bar Crank yet and I was planing on doing it, but I am not even sure if I should, it looks pretty level. What do you guys think?

Thumbs up

I just saw a beautiful white 87 or 88 4X4 regular cab with the 98 tacoma 3/6 rims, No rear bumper, and it looked awesome!

I have a 1988 1st gen and after doing a little research, decided to try these.
I paid $450 for a set of take offs with about 100 miles on them.
Sold the old 15x8 "rock crawler" steel wheels for $100.

I should note, these are from a 2006 Tacoma - and I believe wheels came in 16" and 17". I've got the 16".

If the 16" wheels are balanced on the inside of the rims, you will have clearance issues with the weights. Weights must be added to the surface or outside of the wheel. This shouldn't be a problem with the 17" wheel.

I like how they look on the truck though.
