Installed Herculiner Bedliner this Weekend
After losing billions of brain cells from MEK and the Herculiner I finally have a bedliner and new tailgate. It really took me like 3 days cause my bed was in such bad shape. All the prep work took all my time and then the rest was painting it. Herculiner seems like really good stuff so far. See my pictures in my Webshots link at the bottom of this. What do you guys think?

Mine was a lot more difficult cause my truck once in it's life was a shop truck for a body shop so there was body filler that had set in the bed. So I had to grind all that crap out first and all the rust. But really it was worth it for me instead of paying 500-600 dollars. I'm very satisfied right now with herculiner. What is the surface like on your trailer?

mt railer has steel sides that are in good shape as the trailer is only a year old. It has a wood floor that I wouldn't do. So the walls are 32" high. the front is 5' wide and the it is 10' long.

If the sides are good shape you shouldn't have much trouble at all. And there should be enough herculiner. I did mine with two coats and I have about 15% still left in the can. And it was 93 dollars with a mail in rebate of 10 dollars.

Oh and I didn't do that sloppy of a job the pictures, it is hard to see but the masking tape is still on the truck and I don't have the bed sides in place. But essentially after the maile in rebate it cost 83 dollars. I also recommend if your doing this some foam wedge brushes they came in handy in tight corners.

How long did it take to prep the bed? (Minus the extra work you had to do)
Did you have to scuff the paint or just use acetone or MEK? I'm thinking about doing this and was wondering if the Herculiner you used is better that the Dupli-color stuff that Walmart sells for about half the cost.
Looks good. Let us know how it holds up.

Yea, I beat the crap out of my bed so we'll see if it holds up. If I didn't have to grind all that crap out I could of easily prepped it in a couple hours (I'm a perfectionist). First you clean the bed with soap and water let it dry. Scuff it up with the pad in the kit then wipe it down with acetone or MEK. Is the dupli-color spray can or roll on?

I've used the dupli-color before and it is junk. It cannot take a beating at all.
I have some stuff on mine made by Rust Oleum that is okay, but can't take a real beating either. It is better because it has an epoxy you mix in before applying.
My buddy has an F250 and bought that spray on Rattle Guard from eBay. He cuts and hauls wood all the time and it has served him very well. I would recommend that to anyone with a compressor. I am thinking about sparying over mine with it. I would say it's as good as anything you would pay 400+ at a shop to do.
