How much does a 2.7 or 3.4 swap cost?

Don't think BigMike has a write up or build thread here, but for the others either check out the build thread sections. BigMike's is on Marlincrawler's forum.

Look into turbocharging what you have (rebuilt, of course). For the price of a swap and all the figuring-out, it might be an option. Plus, home-brewed, non-factory turbo engines are bad-ass and give you credentials forever.

3.4 is costly but sooo worth it.
be kind to yourself and your wallet and get a donor vehicle like stated above.
i really enjoy mine, but if you don't need the torque to pull with you would probably be fine with a 2.7. you can supercharge either one, or turbo the 4 banger.
find used taco's at a used car lot and test drive both engines to decide for yourself which engine you prefer.
