OK, My Wife is THE only person allow to call ME inconsiderate and a jerk so suck it up princess. We all learned by our mistakes. You have a lot to learn about doing business and how to talk to people who you have asked for help or an opinion. I apologize if I have offended you.

Have you got your bearing on again?
Did you dismiss my suggestions?

way to be a helpfull bunch.
Have I dismissed your opinions, yep ... and everyone elses for that matter.
You all assume i am too quick to judge, yet you are all judging to quickly.

The axle shaft is straight,
He owned up to smashing the brake shoe against the ground by using the redneck method to remove the bearing.
He also admitted to more than likely causing the bearing's failure by pounding it, as well as possibly damaging the race.

Sufficient knowledge, Yota82, you have no clue.
Sonof ...... you don't deserve my attention.
misterzee, backing down would have only lost me money.

OH ... and sonof ... they dismissed both my citations. You shouldn't be allowed on this forum anymore.

Perhaps I have no clue about your knowlege. But if you are so knowlegeable why didn't you do it yourself? No tools? If you can critique someone elses work, why didn't you realize that "the bearing was not pressed in properly" when you were reinstalling it? Don't get defensive when people are trying to help you, if you actually read what I posted I said "I'm not trying to be harsh", you started the thread asking for everyone elses .02, man.

You're on the WRONG BBS DooD. You should be at the kindler, gentler PIRATE 4x4.

OK, this has degraded to a bitch session.
So, they did install it the same way as you could have done it at home.
Not the way a "machine shop" should install a bearing.
I have installed axle bearings the same way at home successfully so it does work but if a shop has a press, they would/should use it.
Maybe "we", the group who know better are too quick to judge but given the facts, ie, the first post of this thread, it read like a whiney, not very well research bitch, at least to me anyways.

If I was a Mod on here (hint), I would paste any relavent info worth keeping into a new thread and delete the BS.

Lets not fill the server up with nonsensical bickering. I come here for info, not soap opera antics.

I apologize for any percieved flaming, but lets keep this stuff to good info.

Mike

Ditto. I guess the moral of the story is When dealing with any shop ... ask them how they plan on doing their work. If it is what you would do in your garage, then do it yourself, take your time, and do it better.
I apologize for any toes i might have stepped on, if anything, this thread just showed me who i should put on my ignore list, and who to thank.
Thanks guys.
