gasket for iac valve body

gasket for iac valve body
I went to get the gaskets I need for cleaning the iac valve at parts store. All they said it showed was the one for the throttle body to intake. Is there one between the throttle body and the valve body?

The IAC (called the AAV in Toyota literature - auxiliary air valve) is integral to the 3.0 throttle body - it isn't removable like the one on 22re trucks. There is a little cover plate that may have a gasket under it, IDK. If there is a gasket, it would probably be a dealer-only part. Here are a couple threads that both have pics of the 3.0 throttle body:

EDIT: Apparently there is a gasket for that coverplate. In that first linked thread, OutlawMike said he didn't have a new one, so he used RTV. You might send him a PM to ask if that worked ok.
Here's the fsm section for the throttle body - it's for 1993 - the later trucks have a little different design throttle body, but I think the AAV is the same. The pics in first linked thread above are of the earlier design, like yours. The second thread has pics of the later design, like in the fsm:

Suggest using a new gasket every time you remove the throttle body. I like the dealer ones the best. Be careful not to over-torque the mounting nuts - the spec is only 13 ft-lbs - not very much.

Yes there's a "gasket" of sorts. IIRC, when I pulled that cover plate off mine it had some kind of semi-permanent type of sealant applied to it. I would liken it to the stuff on the lid of a mason jar. It's consistency was flexible/rubbery and it was stuck on there real good. So good in fact that it appeared to be completely undamaged by the removal of the cover plate. As such I didn't figure I needed to apply anything extra to it when I replaced it. Which appeared to work just fine, and I haven't had any issues with it since either.
No there's no gasket available from Toyota for it. Though I see no reason why a small bead of RTV/FIPG wouldn't work as a suitable gasket for that application. Alone, or in addition to the factory gasket/sealant(if present and still in decent shape). Just don't get crazy with the stuff.
