Fuel Filter Replacement
I finally changed out my fuel filter on a 1994 22re 2wd pickup--not fun.
No matter what I did, the line out of the filter (toward the engine) is interfering with the oil filter to the point that I am afraid I won't be able to remove it for my next oil change.
Anyone have tips or tricks to solve this problem. Bending the banjo fitting? Bending of the fuel filter bracket?
There is only one way the fittings can go on and the lines didn't interfere before.
Anyone??

If you have the 22re (fuel injected 4 cylinder), its under the intake manifold, above the starter motor. The best way to access is through the passenger wheel well by removing the wheel and the splash guard/liner. Once you have removed the wheel and liner, you will see it. Its almost impossible to see without doing that.

Theoretically you shoud never have to change that filter as the sock filter on the tank pump should filter out any junk in the lines. Are you sure its bad? I have 250k on my truck and I've never changed that filter.

I don't believe the filter was 'bad' but I believe it is a maintenance requirement and most of the people around here say that it is something that should be done when one acquires a used vehicle with unknown service history--which I did.
I'll see if I can get a pic. Its such a pain in the ass to get a clear angle on it (remember, its 2wd!!), I'll have to raise it up and remove the wheel again to get a good shot.

easy to relocate to the wheel well in the engine bay. i also removed all the PAIR valve crap (and tossed it in the garbage along with the EGR crap), which would make it easier to get to, but it's relocated now so i don't have to worry about it.
