Wow thats broke. You definitely need a flange yoke. Looks like a junk yard DS is in your future.

Soak those flange bolts in penetrant now. They will be easier to remove once you get to it.

yep.. new yoke is definitely needed. if you need to drive it before it gets fixed, just remove the rear shaft all together and lock the front hubs in. then put it in 4x4 and drive it in front wheel drive

Ouch! I'm surprised all your fiance heard was a pop. Did you tow it home?

You should'nt be too hard on your guy for breaking this.
It is plain from your photos that the universal joint had been bad for some time.
I imagine that your truck had been trying to tell you for a while that the u-joints needed attention.
Failure to listen to it and understand turned a small repair into a more expensive one.

alright now I'm waiting for my uncle to price me one, my fiancé is just now getting used to driving a stick, so I'm not being hard on him, it's just a truck, and failure to listen, that's my fault, I take the blame for that. for now the trucks sitting in the shop and I'm driving my dads truck.

Red face

i find for myself I much rather have all new since most times .

The ones I get to repair end up needing new flanges plus the cost of the new ujoints .

I have never been lucky enough to find a yard drive shaft that didn`t need new joints or the tube was bent just enough to make it impossible to balance.

I hope you have better luck.

Your pics seem to show that it is the rear driveshaft that you need, not the front one.
