Broken Egr Valve Tube - Need Some Help
I broke the metal tubing on my egr valve right at the flange :pat: . There is a small amount of over hang but the two pieces line up. I was considering JB welding it it seal it or maybe just wrapping it with rubber hose. I don't know what to do. I have succesfully swapped an engine for the first time in my life and have learned a lot about my truck. This is the first EFI car I have really ever done a large project on. It is an 86 EFI assembly on a 90 22RE block. Anything would be helpful, thanks.

Welcome to the club. The JB weld should do it but it might be a bit runny. I used hi-temp two part epoxy putty I found at Kragen. It worked just fine until I got my new EGR valve and bought a new pipe to go with it. As long as you're not replacing parts the epoxy putty should do fine. It comes in a clear tube and has a grey outer part with a black core. You break off a chunk and mix it together so it's a uniform color and put it to work!
