as a newbie with no experience this has been a formidable opponent, but definitely something you can do.

This can be true if you put the truck in high gear(manaul trans) But if the bolt was was kinda easy to get off and relatively loose thats not good lol. That bolt needs to be tourqed down alot, I never tourqe em i just run them down with an impact and tey will be fine. But the 22r's tourqe for them is a lil over a 100 foot lbs i believe. You leave that bolt kinda loose you will beat up that key and spin that pulley on the crank and have a bad day.

like i did.

that's why it's important to use a 6 point impact socket, 1/2'' drive...broke some sockets and ratchet wrenches before i figured that out. was lucky to get it out.

hehe... indeed 6 point being the #1 choice for socket to bolt removal. The bolt should not be that much even though its a specialty bolt... i've never had to buy one before soo... I imagine it would be no more than 20 bucks

click the link....$9.95...for my "freshening up" I ordered some of the odd stuff. crankshaft bolt, oil siphon gasket where it meets the block, oil pan washer(cuz I wanted to), and that long stupid allen bolt for through the lower intake...and an LCE sticker...all for about $14 to my door (I think), definitely less than $20.

KIROSHU read my bolt removal thread...I'm proud of myself.

Good luck make sure you line everything up properly and don't forget about the "hidden" bolt under the Distrubutor drive gear for the t-cover. If you have done one on other cars you should know what to do relatively. Just like the other cars set it to TDC before taking it all apart and pull the Distrbutor straight out don't move it one bit. Lay it somewhere you know it won't get moved or touched ( that way you can just slide it back in there without any issue) and MARK IT before you pull it. Remeber Sprocket dots and bright chain links positons. Cam 12 o'clock/ Crank 6 o'clock
