92 Extra-Cab

Good evening, Im trying to diagnose the slack in font left wheel. It rocks at 12 0"clock to 6. Has a slight ticking sound at lower speeds, also when the hubs are locked it makes a growling noise at slow speed. Could it be all of the bearings or possibly just hubs, I am perplexed, any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks

Movement at 12 and 6 would usually be a ball joint. A bearing would growl but there would be play in all directions not just 6&12. A CV joint could cause some clicking usually when turning. You can sometimes feel a bad CV joint through the steering wheel.
Possible you have more than one issue.

It's probably time to pack your wheel bearings. Follow the instructions in the FSM and properly torque the drive axle nut . When going through this job you'll be visually checking bearings, torque settings, etc... Chances are you'll find the answer when going through this procedure and the bearing probably need to be repacked anyway
