well got the intake pulled off and every time i look at something it has more problems, first the knock sensor is just there with no wire to it sensor is shot wire broke at the top of the sensor, need to get a deep socket to pull it out.
The small coolant line on the back left of the engine where the temp sensor is had a hole in it, need to replace.
the ground that goes from the firewall to ? looks like maybe intake was corroded and broken need to replace.
One of the hoses for the reed valve? or maybe by it had a big split in it. need to replace.
i'm going to delete alot of stuff to make the engine bay as simple as possible with the least amount of stuff to breakdown or go wrong while out in the dirt.
Im thinking about finding a better place to mount the knock sensor i dont want to tear this thing apart for one damn sensor.

i dont think u will find a better place for the knock sensor, the ground goes to the back of the passenger side head or top intake manifold. well just think that when u get all those things fixed it will run better.

I got to my ks yesterday, not connected; also wire was bare, need to replace lead, a dealer only part apparently. I used a 24mm socket, not deep, remove the wire lead plug from top of sensor. I also found some other problems: a 2 wire plug loose under air chamber- it goes to the efi wire bundle near the cold start (?) injector switch. Any ideas where this might go? Also on h2o bypass rear of intake, looks like there is a single wire sensor of some kind that is broken (appears there are 2 single and 1 double (for the temp sensor). Ideas? Takin off A/c, replacing with air compressor.

My sensors on the bypass have 2 single wire sensors and 2 2wire sensors and some kind of vac switch. I don't have any wires near the cold start injector other then the inj wire. I'm pulling the ac just to lighten it up get rid of cond coil for better air flow to radiator. doing an arb comp in the back with small air tank.
