I got em in my 4runner. Fresh 22re and 31's. I rebuilt the motor the same time I put in the gears so I don't know which helped but I do have to shift a little earlier. Like 3-4 mph's.

So you're saying you went from 4:10s to 4:56 w/31s? or 4:30 w/31s? If you have the 4:56, have you driven on 29s yet?

sorry to hijack, but soon i plan on buying a new set of 15" rims and 35x12.50x15r mickey thompson baja claws and they fit fine on my truck. however, what kind of performance drop would i expect, how much will my speedo be off, and should i regear?
note: they will be for offroad use only.

Simple answer, Yes, regear. You'd be wrong not to. 5.29's.

Lol!!! I know dude. I ALWAYS do a search b4 I ask a question that might've been beat to death. I typed in 4:30, 4.30 and 430, and didn't find anything. Just cuz I didn't add that lil "s". When bob200587 said he asked this already, I looked up his threads and voila! Good stuff on this thread as well.

See... that's what I'm dealing with now too. For 31s DD and 35s off road, i'd say 4.88 is the best compromise.

What size tires you planning on running? I know I read it but reading all these regearing threads makes me feel like I've been thrown in a twister and am dizzy, lol.
