22re injector solenoid resistor
I recently bought a 1986 Toyota 4runner. Pack rats made a nest in the whole engine compartment. They chewed up hoses, wires. etc. They solenoid resistor was shot. I purchased a new one and was able to plug in the "pigtail" that had blue/yellow wires to it but the "pigtail" that had the black/red wires to it I was unable to plug it in. looks like the plug connected to the resistor is a male plug and the female plug is gone? my question is, is how can I wire in a new plug?

A insulated female spade connector soldered to the harness side should work.
I need to look at one to be sure .
Just get what ever connector you need and install it.
Remember the Black /red stripe is coming from the ignition switch so needs to be insulated.
Do we want to know just how a solenoid resistor was shot??

I have never had to replace a solenoid resistor unless it was chewed like you mentioned. If it were me, I would get the section of wiring out of a parts truck and replace the missing section.
If I recall right the solenoid resistor is on the Injector harness and that whole section is easily replaced with a good 86 harness. It unplugs from the computer and the rest fairly easily.
