I just acquired these wheels in hopes they will fit my 1985 Toyota 4x4. The price was so cheap I could not pass them up, they are 15x7's. I'm running 30x9.50's for tires on some junk centerline knockoffs that were painted white. I plan to swap the tires over to the new wheels. Will they fit my 85 truck?

BTW I know I will not be able to run front center caps with manual hubs

If your truck came with 15" rims stock, it'll fit no problem.

But, are you sure those are 15's. I have never seen that style in a 15 inch rim unless they are Enkai (sold by Toyota) rims. Not saying you are wrong, just makin sure

In the casting it says 15x7 Toyota? I guy, I got them from claims they came off a 1994 Toyota 4x4 truck.

Mine are 15s as well.. they came on 1996-200? Tacos and 4Runners.

Those rims were available in both 15" and 16". My parents bought a 96 runner with 16, and a 97 taco with 15. You had the option on the vehicle if you bought it new. At least in Canada thats how it worked

I bought a set to replace my steel wheels 2 or 3 years ago. I have the manual hubs too. There is actually a plastic cap specifically for the manual hubs. The set I bought came with 2. I never put them on. They look just fine without it.

I'm gonna say that they won't fit. Wheels from IFS trucks, whether '86-'95 pickups, or '95.5 and later Tacomas (like those rims came from) have way more backspacing than '79-'85 solid axle trucks have. They will work fine in the rear, but they might interfere with the brake calipers up front because they have so much backspacing.

I have aftermarket wheels with 4" backspacing and I have to run wheel spacers to make them fit my '85 front axle. Those Tacoma wheels probably have about 4.5"-5" of backspacing.

BTW, you know that the lug nuts for the alloys will be different than for steel wheels. Just thought I would throw that in. I don't want to insult your intelligence, but just in case you weren't aware.

Yeah I'm aware, the centerline knockoffs have the correct shanked lugs, but I'm going to buy all new ones. Every other one is a different head size on the junk alloys that are on my truck now.

Mybe I'm just anal, but it would not be fun to try and change a tire on the side of the road with a bunch of different lug nut sizes. I have the stock steel lugnuts for the steel spare under the seat.

I bought a set off of eBay. Here is a set of 20. Unfortunately its not 24, but that's a good price. I paid $40.00 or more for my set. I think they are $6.00 each at the dealer-So I've been told:

SFA wheels have 3.5" of back spacing. IFS wheels have about 4.5". If you put those wheels on your truck it will most likely cause the rear tires to hit the frame when the suspension is flexed. I also highly doubt you will even be able to get the wheels to bolt on the front due to interference with the brake caliper. Even if the wheels fit it will make your truck 2" narrower. I would say you either need to buy some wheel spacers or swap in an IFS rear axle and IFS front hubs or just leave the wheels you have on it.

Guys this is true I found out today these wheels stand very little chance in hell of fitting on my SFA truck. Short of using spacers or ? I tried fitting the front and it hits the caliper and the tierod.

Can I use spacers?

Those are 95.5 to 2000 Tacoma wheels, or they may have come from a 1996-2000 4 Runner with a 4 cylinder (15") and yes, they will bolt on, but the 84-85 had a brake caliper which might be an issue and also, the wheels offset is different ont he straight axled rigs. You might find they will hit the front calipers and hang in too far. ALso, the front caps wont fit over the hubs unless you cut out the center.

Any ideas on what size spacer I should run? 1' or 1.25.

Paxil, try them on for size first, you might be OK. The front will be the area of concern. I put a set of later 15" steel wheels on a buddies 84 truck, and ran into the caliper problem and the fact they were in too far (looked goofy). On the IFS, its a non issue.

ifs wheels dont fit soild axle trucks due to tie rods!! i figured this out today by (not) putting 1990 stock steel ifs wheels on my 79 pickup today...the rears fuit 100% but the fronts arent even close, the are smashed up against the tie rods....wheel spacers a must!
