question about installing clutch fork boot

I realized my clutch boot is a bit messed up, but I'm ready to drop the engine in and can't wait an extra few days to get one before dropping the engine (I could if I have to), so can I simply just install it after. The only reason I'm asking it because this is my first time messin with any of this stuff and I'm not sure if I'd be able to slip it past the clutch slave cylinder pin or not as I'm not sure how much pressure there is on that thing when it's all put together.

Any suggestions or help would be great. Thanks.
