Lately my 4runner has been acting up. It would start jerking on third gear. Please, if anybody can help me what it is I needed to repair is greatly appreciated. That way when I take to the mechanic I have an idea what's wrong it. Thank in advance.

youre going to need more info than that to get any help. or you could just take it to your mechanic and not try to jew him out of the diagnosis fee.

i have no problem with the mechanic doing a diagnostic test, the only thing i'm worried about is if they try to charge me more than i should. i just want to get an idea what's wrong with it, but thanks for the reply.

wow i just realized that my first response sounded kind of asshole-y. sorry about that. try calling a few shops and give them the basic info and what your trucks doing. if they think they know they will often tell you and you get to avoid the charge. something i dont like as a mechanic but if it brings you a good customer its worth it.

but anyway lets try to get some more info. what motor? manual or auto? how many miles? is there a certain rpm it happens at or is it just as soon as you hit third gear?
