Want to Lift my 82

I am new to this forum, and I am wanting to put a suspension lift on my 82 long bed. How big a lift can i put on the truck without having to lengthen the drive shafts or any of that junk? Is it 3" or 4"? Wanting to run 34x9.50x15 TSL swampers!

i dont think they would fit without lifting i know they wouldnt fit on my 89 but i would go for 4 in just to be safe and it would be beter and it would look beter =]

just be careful around the turns if u dont put new axels or wheel spacers

I guess i really don't have to lift it to run them, but i assumed that in order to have flex i would need to lift it at least 3". When you had the 34's on did you rub any at all on or off road?

Only very minor at the firewall at full lock and compression.

But RUF or a kit with a new hanger would fix this by moving the front forward 2"s, But also would lift it....sooo

Get friendly with a BFH to to the pinchweld and you should be fine

Run a 2" or 3" lift and you should have no problem with tire contact, and no driveshaft issues. Please don't put on a crappy lift. Search around this forum for a million opinions on lifts - most of them, though, come to the same conclusion: crappy lifts are not worth the time it takes to install them, much less the money to buy them.

I plan to use it for both. I want to be able to drive it on the road everyday if i choose, and want to 4-wheel as well, but i want it to perform like it should off road.
