troubleshooting transfer case leak

on my 82 yota the front driveshaft fell off because it was to short after i lifted my truck. my transfer case started leaking now and i cant figure out where from exactly. I found some bolts that attach to the cross member lose, and one even missing so i tightened them down and replaced the one but that wasnt the answer. the only place i can see the leak coming from is where the front driveshaft meets the transfer case. does this make sense? i will be lengthening my driveshaft soon but will that solve it?
just need some help/advice?

yep, lengthen your driveshaft, better yet, get a long travel slip spline put in while it's getting lengthened. you can get ahold of high angle driveline in california and they'll do it for a good price.

the leaking seal sounds like the front output seal. easy job to replace, remove the driveshaft, take off the 30mm nut on the flange, and pull it off, the seal is in there.
