I did suspension, lockers f+r, and gears.

If I need a winch, I'm with somebody that has one. My next rig (full Rubicon rig) will have a Warn 9000i, though.

i'm starting with suspension, will throw a locker out back when i have the gears setup after i pick the best tire size. i'd hate to have to redo the locker because i had the wrong gears after upgrading tires.

also, around here if your belly is hung up on a rock, it doesn't matter if you have lockers or not... and the stock crossmember is shaped great for grabbing things.

I disagree. A winch will get you home. A wench is something that usually gets you into trouble, especially if you use the term in front of your wife/gf

Got FLex? lol

i have a lift and locker

i had the locker first and boy, difference is night and day.

The lift was just so i could run larger tires, which in turn were new.

so maybe i should say, locker+new swampers= night and day difference!

+1

Stock crossmember = rock magnet. My Budbuilt crossmember tends to slide over stuff that the stocker would bang and completely STOP at.

Locker and rock sliders, When I build another truck thats what I plan on doing.

I find the lift unnecessary in my truck(4"), the only really important place I gained clearance was the transfer case crossmember. Stock leafs ride pretty good if they are in good shape and a good set of shocks, flex good enough if you have a locker and you wont have all the problems of drive shaft angle/length, steering, and re-gearing because with a lift comes bigger tires.. Small lift(2") with good quality springs is a good idea like Old Man Emu's or something, a locker, sliders and a winch.

Dont go with a roughcountry or procomp lift, they ride really hard.

an old thread, but my input:

first decide what tire size you are going to run. once you have that figured, lift accordingly. now you'll notice you need new gears pretty soon, and while you're in there you can add a locker. but a locker first when you know you'll end up re-gearing because you plan on larger tires anyway... thats just a waste of money.
