!980 Pickup Smog Fail
Pretty new to this forum, but I've been struggling to find information, how-to's and diagrams for my 1980 SR5 Longbed. Currently stationed in California, I have to do a smog in the near future and failed my first test with CO levels at almost 3 times the California limit while at idle. The mechanic gave a short list of solutions, but I doubt they'll reduce it by that much. Additionally I must be some kind of an idiot because I have no idea where my A/C compressor is (previous owner said it was "all there, but not hooked up") and can't seem to find a diagram showing what it's connected to. My truck has oem A/C controls in the cab, but when getting replacement belts, none of them seem big enough to somehow fit an additional pulley, not to mention idk where it goes. Any info or guidance on my project would be *greatly* appreciated, thanks!

Hi. I have a 1980 4x4 purchased from new in CA. It has 1980 CA smog equipment on it as original. I was taking a bunch of pics the other day and I took some of the factory emission stickers on the hood. You can see all of them here https://photos.app.goo.gl/zcmzb8hZtZUKnoqq6

Did you figure out any solutions yet? I don't have AC, but I'm pretty sure the AC compressor runs off of it's own belt. Same for power steering if you have that (I don't, so just have an alternator belt). I felt pretty lucky to pass our Colorado emissions after I bought my '82 a year ago since it isn't in top shape.
