Moab 10/06/06

First time for me with four wheels to Moab. Been there for two wheel adventures many times before, but this was a great trip. Group I planned to go with had to bail out, so it was just me, my girl, our dog and the truck. Several thousand miles later I'd thought I'd share a few pics. Didn't even have to break out a wrench the whole trip. Toyota

Was rainy the first day

Lot's of good waterfalls

Dog with arch (check the massive waterfall way in the background)

Made Poison Spider interesting

Metal Masher next day, Mirror Gulch... up the big step...

... and over the top.

Practicing being smooth with the clutch.

Views for days.

Brave girlfriend

Tippy section after deciding not to try Widow Maker. Big drop off driver side on the way back down. Should have just given Widow Maker a try

Exploring a random side canyon in the area

All trails don't have to be hard to be amazing.

Crazy erosion, section about 3' high by 10' wide

Tall cliffs at bottom of Gemini Bridges

All's well that ends well

We will be back for sure!! Moab is a blast.

I'll be heading to Moab in late November and will be looking for an easy trail for my Taco and trailer. Any suggestions? I'll have my family and two dogs so, like you said, not all trails have to be difficult to get those views....

Best moab photos I have ever seen.
Puts everything into perspective for someone who has never seen the area before.
Lots of good calendar shots too

Nice pics...

I ran Poison Spider/Golden Spike/Gold Bar Rim on Saturday 10/7. I wish I would have known you were in the area.

Hope you don't mind the hyjack!

Great pics!

Did you run into the TTORA group too that was there with a few FJ Cruisers and the Toyota Trail Teams FJs?

Looks good Steve and Jim. The truck has come a long way in a year.

Lots of people in town that weekend, glad y'all had fun. Sorry I missed it.

Thanks for the compliments. Honestly though, it's hard to take bad pics there.

Freejake3: Get the Well's book about Moab trails. Lots of good ones at different levels of difficulty. I would suggest going to Gemini Bridges for sure. If you just view from the top, the trails are tame with amazing views. I'd be glad to give your more info if you'd like.

Corey: I really saw very little traffic. Did catch some TTORA rigs coming off of Poison Spider. Toyota sure is the minority in Moab.

Albq Jim: It would have been good to do that run together. I'd really like to do the three you linked up. Maybe next time... soon.

I saw a ton of pics in one of the albums from a FJ Trail Team leader
http://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=114409

One of my faves, all FJs coming down off of some slick rock stuff

I thought you might have ran into them there.

This woman here is a moderator over at an FJ forum.
Ahhh, make that admin, she just got promoted.

We were there the same time also. The rain and flooding made it interesting in places. Nice pics, I'll post my own once I recover from the drive.

I love the rain out there. The back way off 70 following the river was SPECTACULAR last time I came out. It had just rained and looked like red molten cliffs had come down the mountain sides.
