Question I haven't had the recall service done for my 97 4WD.

Does every one receive the rear suspension recall service?
I have 97 4WD, do I still need to have it done?
Is it good ?

Any recommeded dealer in Michigan area? I know a couple of dealer in which I had only NOT pleasant experience..... running out of choice....

Thank you in advance.

You can call any dealer, give them your vin number and they can tell if it has been done. Check on the headgasket TSB while you are at it. Don't know of any dealers in Michigan, sorry. Hope this helps.

I talked to my local dealer and scheduled it for tomorrow morning. It doesn't sound too big of a deal, but it's free and will probably help with towing. It's going to take 1.5-2 hours.

wheel size?

Ok! As you guys strongly suggested, I called local dealer and made an appointment. As you said, local dealer said it is going to take about 2 hours, but in reality, they can let me take my car back in 3~4 hours. Anyway, that is good because it takes less than a day... And the service representative told that they gonna replace rear coils and bumpers.

By the way, I heard that some body said the coil and bumper should be different by wheel size. Is it true? If so, do I have to tell them I have 16 inch wheels? Or do they know it by my VIN # so that I do NOT need to?

Thank you.

Done!

Finally I had the recall service done for mine!

The rear coils are now larger than before, but the bumper is a little shorter. and seems like they put another bumper (or spring) inside the coils (hollow spiring). Seems like very good and solid service. I like it!

Well, describing the ride feel, it is NOT just rough or smoother, I would say it is rather tight and soild.

Good! Thanks for your pushing me to get this service done as soon as possible
