So I am here on the forums to try locating others who have made the manual 3.4 work with the old 5spd trans. Please assist in direction. I was intending to have the labor outsourced but the labor man flaked after I told him I was almost ready to deliver the truck and engine. So Here I am venturing into the unknown alone. I am not much of a mechanic but I can turn wrenches and read torque wrench. So here I go. Any help will be appreciated. Links to other threads where people have done walk throughs would be awesome.

Whats up YotaTech? I am looking for a little direction. I have a '90 runner with a 3.0 manual 5spd. I just bought a 3.4 auto out of a 99 runner with about 160k. $700 for the engine seemed pretty reasonable but getting sucked into a $400 HG set was insane. Thanks YotaShop. Someone has to be the most expensive joint on the planet. Anyways, so I am going to freshen up the top end and as I understand it the compression on the new motor is a steady 160lbs on all six (which I intend to verify), so I will not likely do any maint on the bottom end. I had a 22r and 22re both on which I swapped with similar motors in other toyota trucks, but that never included the changes needed to the harness and ECU systems.
