Hi Chris, I still have the W56 trans and you are correct, it is a W56A, the type that was stock behind 1985 22RE motor (EFI) originally attached to a top shift transfer case. It is in working condition and seemed fine to me the last time I drove the truck before I tore it apart, but the truck had 227K on it. Just want to be honest about the mileage. Shipping something this bulky and heavy is going to be a major pain in the anatomy IMHO, and expensive too. I honestly think you are far better off finding one on the west coast (I'm in NJ, 3000 miles away from you). Try TAP recycling, Yotamasters, there is another dedicated Toy yard in CO whose name I can't recall at the moment ... Or ring up Marlin Crawler and get a rebuilt trans. You'll be better off. Thanks!

Hi i read through the 4 pages of your part out thread. As far as i can tell you still have the W56 tranny, is that correct? From everything i read it looks like it is a W56 transmission and would attach to a top shift transfer case, and the tranny is for a fuel injected 4x4 85-88 toyota, is that correct? Just have to make sure as i cant understand why noone has claimed it yet. Anyways if you still have it, it is in working condition, and you are willing to ship to 92065 then i DEFINITELY want it. Just let me know where to send the money. Also to clarify i only need the tranny and not the top shift t case that you are selling for $100. Thanks.
