    what's the purpose of that extra reserve of air box ? (besides being big and annoying )

    If you are talking about 3.4 then it's different config. Do a search on 3.4 ISR mod, I've seen someone modded it.

    Here's a pic of the dampener - see the hose still connected to it. I disconnected it and it's now connected to the ISR pipe (closest to the VAFM)

    As you can see in the pictures, the tubings are 2" to 2" (home depot brand). They are very good for holding the pipe together. The metal couples provides additional support and hold the pipes pretty good. No leaks. Would be nice if the ISR pipe is one peice so that there's no need for couplers.
    As for the dampener - it's no longer needed and the hose that connects to it is directly connected to the ISR pipe (closest to the VAFM).

    Im not sure. The one I was refering to is on the 3.4 engine. Im sure a haynes manual would show it though.
