At the risk of asking a ludicrously stupid question, how do I tell which engine version I have? Is it determined by the VIN, or is it determined by the year? I've a link to a downloadable manual, but I don't know which one to get. >.<

None of this may matter, given that after 260K miles, the OEM engine threw two rods through the block (I wasn't driving it!), so I ended up getting a JDM engine.

I tried searching, but sometimes my google fu fails me. (Where google="generic search ability")

    Thank you.

    Hey keokip,

Arizona has some of the best rockcrawling anywhere. The most fun wheeling I've ever done was Moab, UT. Crosscountry Sonora Mexico was another super trip.

    Hi keokip,

Well, Engbldr and 4Crawler have nice stuff and price reasonable. Ebay and Craig's List probably has some bargins on certain items. Some times you can find a Toyota Dealer that will offer a big discount. LC Engineering in Lake Havasu can get pretty pricey, but they a nice selection. Of course there's always your local bone yards for use stuff, and then there's the For Sale sections here. Let me know if find any good one!
