Hey how difficult is a 3.4 swap! Im looking at buying a 1992 off kijiji for $400 and it needs a new head gasket. I figure if I'm doing work anyways just look for one from a wreckers. Does the 3.4 fit nicely or do you have to change the engine bay around to fit it? Also does it need a new tranny to deal with the extra oomph?

Is there anything else I should look out for if I am interested in doing a swap?

    Thanks!

And as a side note, I'm from Rosebud which is about an hour from Calgs. Cool stuff!

Dude, no offence meant, but the metric system isn't the work of "socialists". Oddly enough, it's a system based on certain logical, scientific standards. Such as 100 centimeters to one meter. There are 1000 meters to a kilometer. Zero celcius is freezing, 100 celcius is boiling.

Not quite as quaint as the 12 inches equals one foot deal, and three of them to a yard. Then there's 5280 feet to a mile. Or freezing at 32 farenheit and 212 degrees for boiling.

    Nice system.

And by the way, I get roughly 12.5 liters per 100 kms. Which would be approximately 22.6 miles per Imperial gallon, or 18.82 miles per US gallon.

My calculations also show that 8 out of 24 posts, as of this writing, are by Canadians, giving you 33.3% (or 1/3) of the posts from Canada, not the 90% you claim. Don't forget the 1 guy from Belize, which is not part of the US.

This is pure genius! I love it! And I'm A yank through And through. Good on ya mate! Lol

    Hi RobD,

I just bought a 93 pickup and Im down in Lethbridge. I saw you had done the 5vz swap and was curious about where you got your engine? Did you get someone to do the swap or did you do it yourself? Thanks
