Hi I have recently bought a 1991 4runner that was originally a SR5 V6.
The previous owner installed a 3.0L 1KZT TURBO diesel engine and transmission.
Has been a great drive for 6 months and it recently made a loud knocking noise in the engine and would no longer start.
Took it to my mechanic h pulled the engine and found out that the previous owner modified the oil pan to be able to fit this engine into the vehicle.
When he modified the pan he reduced the amount of oil it could hold from 8 quarts to 4q.
Not a smart move because there is now no enough oil to be circulated into the engine.
This is my only vehicle and I live in the country side of Costa Rica,
Any suggestions on how i can fix this major problem
