I wouldn't mess with the fiberglass, I would use MDF or HDF(if you can get ahold of it). As for the speaker I would get one of those kicker L5(square speaker). The square speakers an 8= a round 10, square 10= round 12, square 12= round 15. If the L5 is too much, try the Memphis M-class which is what I have. In my F-150 I have a Memphis M-Class 12 single voice coil 4 ohm 12, with a 1000 watt sony xpold amp, with a vented box I made outta MDF, and it hits at about 140Db. Anyways, its just all in what you want, ad by the way I would stay away from the Kicker comp.

No way. It's all spot welded in. I also remember hammering out the mounts for the jack out of there to make more room. Everything was welded in. I had to beat the hell out of it for about an hour with a hammer and chisel to get the mounts out of there.
It will all come out, but you're going to have to do a lot of grinding, cutting and hammering...

If you could remove it and build the front out of MDF, then form the bottom along the cab floor with fiberglass, I think it would open up your options for amp or sub placement.
Well....I'm still in the "brainstorming" point of my system install.
