Sony HU install - No MUSIC coming out of speakers.
Going out on a limb here, as it's hard to figure out wiring problems without being there, but maybe there is something I am missing that's obvious...
I took out my Kenwood HU w/CD changer wiring (circa: 1992 or so) last night, hooked up the new Sony HU, everything works great BUT there is no music. It beeps when you change songs (beeps from the speakers), but all I can hear is light static instead of music.
Hooked the Kenwood back up, and it worked fine.
The original wiring harness' are still dangling there from whomever did the previous install, each dangling by one wire. What wires they are, I have no idea. One brown, one white. Not sure if they could be what is causing the problem or not, but it doesn't make any sense to me why they would.
Tried every possible wire combination, checked the grounds, deck settings, etc. I'm at a loss.
Anyone encounter anything like this before?

By process of elimination, I determined that it was the deck.
Bought another deck, problem solved. No I have an issue with how ricey it is
Why can't they make classy looking decks?
