Radio/Speakers static when loud.
Hey all, I just bought a 1986 Pickup which had some static problems with the factory radio when the volume was turned up. I put in a new stereo and new speakers but the problem still exists when I turn the volume up. I'm not very knowledgeable so any information would be appreciable.

ive got the same problem.. but in a 98 4runner.. it just started 3 weeks ago.. i cant figure it out... havnt replaces the head unit yet but the old one is a 4 yr old alpine.. so since it just started acting up.. i dont think its the power wires.. however when it is on battery power i.e. ACC or EXT it is perfect, its only when I turn on the engine that it goes staticy at a louder volume.. i cant even hear it on the highway if i turn it down to a non static volume..

I'm not sure about the power lines all I did was use a harness adapter for the stereo and speakers so all of the wires are stock. I read something about a faulty ground that maybe I could look at if I knew where.
