the main problem is the diff controll comp and wiring;that would probly cost more than the used diff.

The main problem is the axles are different widths and the control arm mounts are in different places and the coil pads are different sized and the panhard won't line up.

Other than that, it would be easy.

damn i guess i need a money tree. i am at a dead end, i have found out that a selectable locker will not be cheap and due to my lack of ability probobly not going to get a toyota e-locker due to the mods i have to do to the housing and the electrical. that scares me. haha anyone in the colorado springs area that has done a e-locker in their 1995 or older 8" rear end?

Not that hard really[*edit* to mod your axle]. I helped a friend of mine, who is handy with a welder and grinder, install one in his son's truck last Sat. Took us most of the day and all went well, save a few glitches, nothing that couldn't be overcome.

Wiring up the control is a cinch!!! With some scrounged up parts we were able to get it done for ~$25!

I paid to have mine done, 'cuz my skills are not refined and I am inpatient. Slee Off Road up in Golden charged a reasonable fee (IIRC I was billed 3hrs labor)

When you get serious about doing mods to your rig let me know. I will be putting out feelers for a low mileage eLocker w/ 4.56 gears soon.
