Liar Liar Pants on Fire

So i was out welding some beefy recovery shackles onto the bumpers I built today, finished up and put my welding stuff away. Then I walked over and grabbed the car kit for the xm radio so we can use it in the truck too, proceeded to walk over to the tool box for a pair of scissors to open said kit and my leg feels warm. I didn't really think about with the heater on and all. Then I notice this really funky smell, sure enough smoke is coming out from my pant leg. I always keep a bucket of water over by the welder in case errant spark lights something up, and i walk briskly over and try to stick my foot into the bucket but its too big. I was able to extinguish the inferno by splashing the water but it was too late. The jeans where a total loss, exspecially now that cut of shorts are not in style.

I took a picture with my camera phone, but the garage was too dark and it didnt come out.. sorry

I've ruined a pair of work boots, a couple pair of jeans and at least a half dozen t-shirts...last t-shirt was the other day. Burned a hole in the front of it the size of a softball before I knew I was on fire...and dang it, it was one of my nice nasty t-shirts.

reminds me of the time back in welding school when my buddy dropped a hot piece of slag on crotch, didn't notice it until it set his boxers ablaze
