E-locker swap into 1980 toyota
Hello this is Jack, I have a E locker out of a 1998 Tacoma superchargered sr5 ( the hole third member with 4:10 or 11's actualy). Wondering what size third member it is and what axle housing I need to locate? I have a 1980 toyota 4x4 and Iv been told that the third member wont fit so I figured ill just find a Tacoma axle or anything along those lines. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
And seeing as my pick up currently has 4:88's will the tacoma E locker accept 4:88's?

you can modify your housing to fit... just takes some cutting, drilling, and tapping...
and yes you can re-gear, it I have an E-locker in my 81 and I had it re-geared to 4.88s using Low range off road V6 ring and pinion set and E-locker bearing set
