strong tube. and also remember i didnt draw in any gussets. I am going with a design that I feel will hold up to what I need, I am basing that on looking at thousands of exos and watching many roll vids, and resarching the common failures. ive seen skimpier cages on heavier trucks take big rolls in th rocks.

Deathrunner...
I think that would be overkill and alot of access wait that the 4runners dont need in their already fata$$'s. plus Ive never seen anyone use that kind of bracing in the rear.
P.S. I love your truck

snapon...
yes, in fact last time I was there I hopped up it for fun, and dont think I slipped once or even slowed down, but that was after the sas. before the sas, on 33's sometimes it would be no trouble and others I would have to repeat many times. but never tried it on the 31's. try it again, some days its tough others its a cake walk.

My woman (Lori) and I are buying a house right now so that means within a month I'll have a garage and more room to work on the truck so I'm hoping to have my cage done within a couple of months.

Nice job...

As for functional cage doors, take a look at this exo, it has to be one of the best designs ive ever seen. Not to mention, a VERY clean jeep. (I say this, and I dont like jeeps) Now, enough with the J word.

the only thing that really screams eyesore is the windshield bar. a few more bends would have made it smoother and kept it out of the field of vision

havent worked on a system for all 4 doors yet.

Those are 36's.

the j#@p cage is nice but i like the cages to be a little tighter to the body.

As far as evolution this is the oldest digital pic I have of it, this is about 3 yrs ago...

and as far as testing goes here is a link to some GREAT shots from last weekend https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f100/cliffs-7-8-06-lots-pics-89769/
the cowl bar only blocks the view of my hood. My two options, bc of the wind sheild wipers, was either make the bar strait a cross the cowl which meant I would have had to elevate it at the fenders a few inches (UGLY IMO) or what I did. I like it, but it does block my squirters...my windshield is dirty.

Cliffs is full of these ravines that tip you on your side and you are forced to drag the side along the little canyon wall. This is what I really wanted the cage for, but I decided to go the little extra and make it for rolling as well.

durring this...

I was draging the side so hard on the wall that I managed to plow dirt and crap into the cage so hard that it actually put a small dent in the body. But if I didnt have a cage id be buying lots of glass.
