1966 FJ40 (Green Bomber)

Purchased this in April '08 from a buddy of mine who bought it for a project. He never touched it, and instead offered me a price I couldn't refuse. At the time, I didn't know much about the FJ40's, in terms of year specific options and parts.

Everything is bone stock except for the spring over axle conversion. When I got the truck, it barely ran, and turned out to have a bent valve. The head was reworked and now gets around 140 psi in all cylinders. After rebuilding the carb, and installing the pertronix electronic ignition, the truck has literally started to run brand new again.

What I've Done So Far:
  • Rebuilt Head (140 psi in all cylinders!)
  • Rebuilt Carb
  • Pertronix Electronic Ignition
  • Rebuilt front wheel cylinders
  • New tie-rods
  • New T-Case Parking Brake
  • Rebuilt Speedo and gages

Future Plans:
  • Upgrade to '69+ front axle
  • Front Disc Brakes
  • High Steer
  • Saginaw Power Steering
  • 4 Speed Tranny Swap / Clutch
  • Rear Locker/Fine spline shafts
