Do I need to replace my fan clutch as well???
I was warming up my 92 4runner 2 nights ago, when all of a sudden(after I revved up the engine to about 3500 r.p.m. to lower idle & stop squeaking sound from the Water pump belt) I heard a loud almost exploding , crashing sound from my engine compartment. I immediately turned the car off opened the hood & my fan was completely shattered leaving a huge gap were it used to be.It also took out the shroud, upper radiator hose, air intake box,& sent a piece of blade into my fairly new battery. So this morning I went to the bone yard & managed to get all the parts that got damaged. Do I need to replace the fan clutch as well & is there a way to test it to determine if it needs replacing?
