Hello there

Been using this forum for 9 months and never realized there was an AZ thread in here! lol. Mostly hang in the 86-95 Trucks & 4Runners thread.

Well, bit of an intro about me. Picked up my old girl from a colleague at work last year for $750, she wanted rid of it from her garage where it was taking up space.

Here she is the day I got her:

Finally finished building her up a little so she's relatively trail worthy, ran Box Canyon / Martinez Mine a couple of weeks ago:

Almost fit through Windshield Rock at Lower Woodpecker without putting 2 wheels on the rock!

Anyway, one thing I really need done is a timing chain. If anyone in here can offer up a good AZ mechanic who doesn't want $1500 just to do the timing chain / guides, that would be awesome. The previous owner had a head job done in 2006, but didn't get the Timing Chain done at the same time and now she's pushing 165k miles, so it's something that concerns me.

Hope to tag along with you guys sometime on a less hardcore run, don't think me or the rig are up to anything to serious yet.

Thanks for pointing me over here Dude. (Elvota)

Always wondered if a 4Runner could fit through Windshield Rock with all 4 on the ground. I never found out.

Generally runs are posted here with difficulty levels and requirements attached. There is usually a trail for everyone, just have to keep your eye out.

9.5" wide tires and I would have cruised right through like a little Samurai!
