Question oil cooler

Thinking of putting on external oil cooler on 94 toy 4x4 22re extracab I live in socal in riverside county so the weather out here is hot most of the time. While it be worth my time and materials to do so if so should I rig a temperture by pass circuit to it. can any body help. It is a every day driver with freeway and mountain driving.

Adding a tranny cooler is never a bad idea, and will likely extend the lifetime of your transmission - go for it.

How hot is it out there in riversippi?

Look at the turbo trucks and runners. The 22RTE has an oil cooler that goes between the block and filter. I believe it's water cooled. Should be a simple install as it's a factory setup.
