Important 96 Taco Questions! Please Help!!!
Hello. I have a 1996 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 V6 5-SPD Manual X-tra Cab. It also has manual-locking hubs. I just had a glass-pack “muffler” installed (this thing sounds mega cool!). It came with the tire size of 225-75R-15 on the 15x6 steel rim. I was planning on installing a REVTEK 3-inch lift kit and increasing the tire size to the offered-at-the-time factory option size of 31x10.50x15 OR 31x11.50x15 OR 32x11.50x15 on a 15x7 or 8 rim. I want to know if
1) I can do this,
2) Will I have to get my Speedometer corrected,
3) Will I have to re-gear my axles,
4) How much would my fuel mileage be affected,
5) What is the stock axle gear ratio for the front and rear axles,
6) How much extra strain will be put on the drivetrain components(clutch, transfer case, driveshaft, axles, u-joints, etc…) and
7) Does anyone have any pictures or information about this lift kit that they have put on their own 95.5-97 Tacomas with the same tire sizes as above?
I know this is a lot to ask but I am new to this (I’ve had my truck for one year) and I want to do this right while spending as little money as possible. Any information anyone has will be greatly appreciated. I thank you for your time.

2) no, but it depends if you are wanting to have the "correct" speed shown on youre dash.
3) no, (depends on what gears you have. See 5), but just going to 31s is not a real big jump especially with a v6
4) depends on how you drive
5) you should be able to find the code inside the door jamb (drivers side) then look it up on ttora or post it on here and someone will let you know.
6) minimal strain. IMHO its a toyota!

I didn't read all of your post but heres my 2 cents. 1st piss on the revtek.Save your money and buy OME 882 coils w/ N91 struts. I had these plus the matching rear springs. Almost 1000 for everything. You'll love em. 2nd yes you can run 32x11.50s on the stock 15x7 rims. I did with no lift and had no rub at all except at full lock and bouncing it hard
