2004 tacoma pre-runner, new suspension needed!!!
Hey guys,
First off... i have a 2004 tacoma pre-runner and i still have the stock bilsteins on here at 92k miles. Needless to say, they are nice and squishy by now.. i know im in need of some new shocks and struts but im not really sure which ones would work best for my application. I have looked into some pro comps, 5100s and some ranchos. Im leaning towards the 5100s after reading a lot of posts on this site...
Second... I get stuck everywhere i go due to the 2wd.. im constantly pushing this truck past its limits, and without a rear locker my buddies almost always have to drag me up a hill to get to the good camp spots. Its frustrating and im sure my friends are tired of it as well... What can i do to get better trail capabilities..????? i have read a lot about the 3rd members and im starting to consider it..
So what im really looking for is some feedback from the people who know.. is a 3rd member and some upgraded shocks/struts really going to give me a little more freedom on the trails? is it worth the time and money, or should i simply dump the 2wd and sack up for a 4x4 trd with a locking rear diff...
I know this is a long post and i appreciate any help i may find from you guys..
thanks in advance!
Dave
