Pinging on 95 T100

Hey guys! It's been awhile since my last post, been busy but I missed you guys!

My truck/engine are completely stock and I have been experiencing some valve noise and/or exhaust noise recently. It's louder when the engine is cold (exhaust leak?) and also during acceleration (valve adjustment?) too. The truck has 67k original miles, the plugs were changed about a year ago but the wires are original. Other than basic maintanence and the head gasket warranty work, that's about all that's been ever been done. Is there something I've missed? I remember reading something here about the exhaust Y part where the headers come together and a heat shield there becomes loose. I checked that but not very closely and it didn't seem loose. I'm really at a loss here and I want to be sure nothing's getting damaged. Thanks in advance guys!

My truck sounded like that, now I have headers and no cat it make a lot more noise. I never did find out what it was but I wouldn't worry about it.
