Hey all.
I'm replacing the egr tube that runs from the exhaust manifold to the cooler and have a couple questions I'm hoping someone has the answers to.
1. I've been reading up on the gasket blowing out between the tube flange and the exhaust manifold. There was no gasket left when I removed the old tube, which was broken at the flange. I've got a ss tube from sor to install, but have read that the sor gasket should not be used, so I plan on ordering an oem gasket and some new locknuts as well. Does anyone know of a good sealant or any other tricks to keep the gasket from blowing out too soon?
2. In order to get the room to be able to fit the new pipe, I am considering unbolting the cooler from the block. I don't have a diagram handy so I'm wondering if there are any gaskets between the cooler and the block. Is this the route most folks follow to be able to fit the pipe to the manifold?
Thanks
