DO It Right The First Time
I purchased a 2000 model 4runner limited edition with 105,000 miles in excellent condition for $10,000. I was looking for stuff for my runner when I ran across yotatech.com. I spend days looking at pics and reading all kinds of technical information about 4runners. I decided I wanted to get a little more ground clearance and a better looking rig so I read everything I could find on lift kits and tires. Trying to be savvy with my money, I decided to go with a daystar 2 1/2” lift. I knew I needed new shocks so I ordered KYB OEM shocks. I had a local garage install my new lift and install my new 285/75 R16 tires. Since I was using stock rims I added 1” wheel spacers which I got from the Lug Store. It wasn’t long before I realized that I had made a mistake. The rear lift was fine but the front kept “bottoming out” on the smallest bump in the road. The OEM shocks were too short for the daystar lift. I cannot remember reading anything on the site about not using factory shocks with lift kits because they are too short. I got in touch with WABFAB and started talking about lift kits and the best way to fix my problem. After careful consideration and expert advice I decided to order the Ultimate Lift Kit with coil overs and Bilstein shocks up front and OME coils with Procomp 9000 shocks for the rear from WabFab. I had the same garage install my new lift kit and am very pleased with the difference. The front is as smooth as could be. The rear is a little stiff when empty but when loaded it settles down and rides better.
Take it from a beginner; spend a little more money, call the experts, get quality parts and really enjoy your ride. Thanks yotatech and WabFab for all the info and expert advice.

i cant tell you how many times i learned this lesson when i was younger. you finish putting something together and then see a part and say to yourself dang that was supposed to go in first CRAP!!! wabfab is the man!!
