Winter and Wheels

Its winter now, and salt is on the road. I put some AR Bajas on to replace the stock wheels in the summer and since it is winter under advice from others I put the stock wheels back on, and well its just not the same. How much damage will the salt on the roads do to the wheels, considering that I do frequently wash and polish them? Just want to get a general consensus from those who are in the same situation, since 50% of me says I paid a pretty penny for them so I should protect them, and the other 50% says I paid for them so I should use them. Thanks for any advice

from what i've heard, if they're polished wheels... then you've really got to take care of them during the winters.... and being up in Canada, i'd bet you get a lot of snow where you're at...

i'd say rough it for a month or so, and see how well they hold up, and if they start to get bad throw the stock ones on. but it looks like you already put them on, so don't worry about it too much...

I have the AR Bajas on right now, and I'm going to run them through the winter.

I sold my stockers, and can't jusify the cost of 'winter wheels' as the Bajas aren't really THAT expensive of a wheel in the first place.

Just take good care of them, and you should be okay. Mine haven't been very affected at all.

I say Texas is the way to go. Yesterday it was olmost 70 degrees and today it is suppose to get up to 73 degrees. May these TX winters are rough!
