What is your latest Mod?
Thougth it might be kinda fun to see what everyone has been trying to do during the winter in the way of mods. I just picked up a few odds and ends in my local wrecking yard so I will be posting a few myself. Right now I am looking at doing an updated version of the side marker lights on my Gen 3. I found the side marker lights froma 2005 VW Beetle whcih has those kewl looking Euro side marker lights. Interesting bit on the newer beetles, the marker lights are not bulbs but LEDs! so I have started a mod. Still having a bit of a cringe cutting a 2-3 inch hole in my fenders! But got it started. If you are looking at those type of lights by the way, the housing is secured with 2 #20 TORX head screws from inside the drivers compartment and unless the dash is out, it is a real Bugger! No pun intended! LOL
Ok thats my latest, whats yours?

I also am looking to do the lights as I got a set of Hella's. Did you drill the holes in the bumper? I'm not quite sure I want to do that just yet. I'm hoping to find a Brush guard or grill gurad that I could mount the lights in beside drilling that chrome bumper. How did it go?

I'm working on converting my taillights on my Tacoma to LED, 60 per side for park/brake and about 50 for the turn per side, i will post a writeup when I'm finished

Yes i did drill the holes, measured multiple times and marked it all out, the daylights are a little big and need shims to get them level because they have to be so far out they are on the roll on the bumper, i eventually plan on replacing the bumper with an after market tube Baja bumper or something, but for now the lights are on there and no one will see the holes. wasn't hard took about a half hour to wire and install the lights. KC provided excellent instructions and products, i am very happy with them.

I've got a 1st gen roll bar in my living room just itching to be cut to size and repainted. It's still a discussion piece for my wife and i about what's "allowed" to be mod'ed to the runner and what's not- it's all about how i phrase the mod

no need for this mod she's cool with this one. it's the lift/aux. lights that are going to be the problem...maybe we'll have to a bit first...nah....

lol actually they weren't blue enough for me! When I first turn them on they were blue, but after a few minutes they turn white... But the real reason I'm sending them back is because they sent me the wrong set w/ the halogen high beam and I ordered Bi-Xenon.

99+ Headlights, avic-z1 with bluetooth, back-up cam and voice command and a new scoop hood. Just waiting on the bulge part of the hood to come in to finish it off.

In-cab winch controls from Roadless Gear ... I lost my remote and didn't want to pay 60$ for a new one .... I wanted in cab controls anyways so it was just easier to get them.

PP lift springs and bils just finished up last night along with finally putting the ES poly bushings on the rear sway bar while we were doing the rest . Nothing else big planned for the rest of the winter other than a good wash/wax and a few repair/maint. items (o2 sensor, throttle cleaning, new plugs).

I finished my HID projector retrofit during the break and ended up painting a few pieces of my interior silver (window switch surrounds, center part of the dash)... sounds ghetto, I know, but it turned out really good and it's holding up well so far!
No more mods for a while The HIDs drained my account a bit. Next on the list though will probably be a 3" lift... Unless I find something else I just can't wait to do
