What should I do about a front bumper?

the Irbis bumper takes away the look of the 4runner, i'd go with the TJM over the Hanson (though i've heard nothing but good things about them) due to the protections of the headlights

Agreed, the TJM offers more protection for the headlights however how often do you jack a tree/rock with that area of your bumper? I don't think I'm real worried about my headlights being that I don't think it's something I'll be hitting.

Why not go with the TJM-17, get some lights, and a winch and call it good. That bumper should protect the front end better than the stock ever could, and as you said before, you won't have to spend the extra cash in getting the headlights protected if you don't think you'll need it.
In my area we have a big deer population or at least where I drive home to, and I will be ordering a 17 when they get off back order. This will give me good protection at a reasonable price, and will go well beyond what my stock bumper and brush guard have to offer!
So....
Its really about purpose, whether it be for protection? look? function?...these are the factors you need to decide on.
Good luck and let us know what you decide!

I would LOVE to see what the folks at Shrockworks are working on for the 3rd gen. Their 4th gen bumpers are truly sick.

It's too bad the ARMOROLOGY stuff isn't a viable option for more of us. It is far and away the best bumper I've seen for the 3rd gen. I may be the only one on YT who could care less about the TJM stuff. I feel that if there was more stuff readily available to us, than there wouldn't be so many people on their wagon.
