Which way
Do 5100 series shocks go on boot up or down? The instuctions are in every diffrent language but english. It would make sence to put them on with lettering up ( boot down). But I see them all the time with the boot up.

I never thought about this, but today I saw a Durango with Ranchos, and the boot was down, and it looked funny to me. Never even clicked that there could be a right or a wrong way to put shocks on, but now I'm confused.

If the shocks have the same mount on the top and bottom, it is user preference. I have done a couple of lift kits on other vehicles and some mount boot up, some mount boot down. Makes no difference really. The shock has the same strength reguardless of the position it is mounted in.
