TSBs for 03 4Runner?
Hi, new to the forum. Does anyone know where I can get the numbers for any and all the TSBs posted for the 2003 4Runner? I know there is one for the tensioner in the v6 engines, but I'm wondering about one possibly for squeaking in the rear seats. Has anyone had that problem? It's no biggie, but it does get on my nerves after awhile.
Would anyone like to share any probs or annoyances with their 4th gen 4Runner? Thanks.

I'm not sure where to get a list of TSBs, but thought I would share the problems I have had.
1. Squeeky belt and/or squeeky pulley. Use to do it all the time while engine is running but now only does it while engine is cold. Toyota didn't know how to fix the problem and so they sprinkled talcom powder on the serpentine belt and it went away (at least until the powder wore off). They told me to call back later once they could locate a different brand of belt to put on it.
2. Engine makes a tick-tick-tick noise; kind of sounds like a fuel injector or valve lifter. You can hear it more when driving by a wall. I compared this to another new V6 03 runner and it made the same noise. I have also read on this board about others having the same problem and so I think it is just common for the engine.
You mentioned that there is a TSB for the tensioner in the V6 engines. Can you tell me a little more about this? Thanks!!

A couple annoyances
1. Ticking noise in engine- I've taken mine in and they thought it was the lifters, however it is not. Apparently now they tell me it is the exhaust manifold and they will be replacing it when the part ships in....
2. Rotten egg smell from exhaust- Yes everyone has it but it still bugs me that on a brand new, $45000 vehicle that I have to put up with the smell....
3. Soft plastic in interior- Seems to scratch very easilly...
4. Soft plastic on instrumentation panel- I whiped mine down with windex and paper towel (as they had gotten dusty) and now they are completely scratched. The continue to scratch with using softer cloths too.
5. LIght coloured floor mats- For a rugged / outdoorsy vehicle, I'm suprised the floor mats are so light in colour (mine are light grey). They get absolutely filthy.
Other than that its great. Don't get me wrong, I do love it, however I did not seem to have any of these little frustrations when I bought my new Honda a few years back....Guess thats what you get for buying a totally redesigned vehicle. The first people to buy them get to be the guinea pigs.

Sorry, I thought it was the tensioner. Its actually the fuel pulsation damper. Here's where I read it:
There is someone who's been having lots of probs, I think with his tensioner. Here's the thread to that:
Problems!
Hope this helps!

alldata doesn't have the 4Runner yet.
You can go to Tundra Solutions and they have a list, though you have to be a club member to get the complete info.
EG003-03 is the # for the sulfur odor from exhaust
Front Seat:
NV004-03 upper squeak
NV010-02 front seat squeak
NV001-03 front seat track squeak
I only copied that ones that pertain to my '03. I'm taking it down on Thurs, so we shall see.
One that I am going to ask about is:
EL008-02 Electrical, Wireless Transmitter & Programming Guide.
If it's what I think it is (settings and what not) then I am going to demand a compy of the guide. If they refuse, there is going to be trouble.
