Tranny cooler under truck?
What is the cooler under the truck for? It's an auto of course. Its on my 89. I know I have one on the radiator. I think it is a stupid place to put it. Do you relocate it? Mine isn't leaking but if I sneeze on it it probably will.

Pictures would help.
Aftermarket tranny cooler? Longer hoses, relocate to the radiator. Nothing to it. The OEM cooler on the radiator is the AC condenser and the power steering cooler.

You must be refering to the transfer case oil cooler that is bolted to the frame under the passenger floor board. You have to relocate it if you want to install headers on the 3.0/auto. Downey sells a kit to replace/relocate it for about $100.

I'm pretty sure its only on the 3.0/auto transfer case.
I think someone would be asking for trouble to remove it and go with no cooler at all.
The cooler is up out of the way enough for me, there are a lot of other things hanging below it that would get hit before it.

The 87 body I bought had it bolted like mt_goat said, under the passenger floor board. I just didnt know where it connected to because I bought the truck without engine, tranny, or transfercase.

Yeah but this thing is rotted. I dont want to touch it but I know it will fail on the trail. One good wack of a stick or a rock and I will be dead in the water. I usually dont bypass stuff unless I know it wont hurt it. I can always make one if needed.
